AHS THEATRE STATE Results: 2016 Oregon State Thespian Festival

in Salem, Oregon March 30—April 2

RADIUM GIRLS, showcase select, opened the Festival. In preparation, we had just 3 hours on Thurs. afternoon to make it all happen. While the actors were competing in their state acting competition, 24 techies led by Chris Jossy and tech directorsDave Pedersen and Bart Grady moved and assembled the set, props and costumes from the truck, focused lights, checked sound levels, set up the projector for the 200 slides, and prepared costume and makeup stations.  Finally when the actors and designers came back from competition, we had time to do only the most complicated cues. However, the actors and tech felt it was their best show ever. The audience was overwhelmingly responsive and appreciative.

Honor Troupe Award for Ashland Troupe 4630 for outstanding troupe work in production, community service and outreach.Christine Impara, President and the officers, Jonathan Connolly, Ceili Widmann, Tessa Buckley, and Emma Durbin received the award. (7th year)

Kyle Storie filmed and edited the five minute video that brought tears to many in the house.

Tech Challenge: 3rd Place 16 techies competed on two teams to do a ground plan, focus a light, coil cords, sew a button and create a sound cue. Efficiency—timing and accuracy wins.
